Councilor Roscoe Turner, 77, is retired from the City of Tulsa, where he worked as a Boiler Inspector for 21 years. He and his wife of 32 years, Nancy, have seven grown children and have lived in the Sequoyah Neighborhood for over 28 years. Turner is a lifelong Tulsan and graduate of Tulsa’s Booker T. Washington.
Councilor Turner is a member of Full Gospel Outreach Ministries. He is involved in several organizations including the Sequoyah Neighborhood Association, Springdale Neighborhood Development Council, Layman Van Acres Neighborhood Association and the Downtown Kiwanis Club of Tulsa. He continues to work towards uniting Tulsa’s diverse population into one homogeneous city through love, tolerance and respect and believes that government exists to serve the people, not to control them.
