Bill Martinson has enjoyed a successful career in public accounting and has served in financial and administrative roles for several privately held Tulsa companies. He and several partners acquired a small manufacturing company, Precision Sintered Parts, in 1996. This career move provided him with more freedom to attend family activities and serve the manufacturing community as a member of the Board of Directors of the Tulsa Area Manufacturers Association (TAMA). In addition to Treasurer, he has served on TAMA's Education Committee, and chaired its Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR) Committee.
Bill Martinson grew up in Durango, Colorado and moved to Oklahoma in 1977 to attend graduate school at Oklahoma State University. After graduating with his masters degree in 1978, he chose to begin his professional career in Tulsa with the international accounting firm of Touche Ross & Co.
In 1979, he met his future wife, Tulsa native Margaret Beard. Bill and Margaret are blessed with three children. The oldest is son Jeff followed by twin girls Heidi and Lindsey. The twins were born in October of 1981, just three weeks after moving into the family home where they still reside today.
Now that the kids are on their own, and he has rotated off the TAMA Board, Bill has the time, energy and desire to put his background and experience to work for the citizens of Tulsa.
He won a special election in May, 2005, and is now representative for District 5 on the Tulsa City Council.
