Council adopted updates to Tulsa’s laws regarding electric scooters

The Tulsa City Council adopted updates to Tulsa’s laws regarding electric scooters at its meeting on Oct. 30.

The changes include clarifying the areas of the city where operating electric scooters on sidewalks is prohibited. These generally include the areas known as the Inner Dispersal Loop (IDL), Brookside and Cherry Street.

The updates also prohibit more than one person from riding on an electric scooter at the same time.

The updated laws go into effect immediately upon publication, which is generally about two weeks after the ordinance is approved.
