The City Council met on May 8, 2024, for committee meetings and a City Council meeting.

 

Below are the highlights of Council discussion and action items.






Urban & Economic Development Committee Meeting | 10:30am  


MetroLink Tulsa Fares Increase

Councilors discussed a possible Resolution with representatives from MetroLink Tulsa (formerly Tulsa Transit) that would increase their fares for the Fixed Route and Paratransit Service. Fares have not increased since July 2014. 

 

The fare for the Fixed Route System would increase from $1.75 to $2.00 per trip. For the Paratransit Service, the fare would increase from $3.50 to $4.00 per trip.  

 

The City Council voted at the 5pm meeting to approve the fare increase that will take effect July 1. MetroLink Tulsa is also working on technological improvements to provide easier access for riders.

Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) Projects/Maplewood Village 

Councilors discussed again a possible Resolution that would allocate Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) dollars for the Maplewood Village Project to assist in the construction of affordable housing in accordance with the Affordable Housing Trust Fund policy of the City of Tulsa.

 

At the 5pm Council Meeting, City Councilors voted to approve all four Resolutions with the Emergency Clause. The projects that would be funded by ATHF include: 

 

  • Maplewood Village Project 

  • 61:4 Properties Project 

  • Avera Living-Midtown Project 

  • Avera Living-Central Project

Public Works Committee Meeting | 2:30pm - Canceled



Tulsa City Council Meeting | 5:00pm


Ordinance Funding Homeless Encampment Cleaning Crews 

Councilors discussed this item at a Committee Meeting on May 1. The Ordinance would fund cleanup crews that will assist in homeless encampment cleanup as well as leftover trash. This will fund two more crews for up to two years. 

 

The Council voted to approve the funding at the 5pm meeting.
